Clam Jewelry Making:
Polish the clam shell into small round balls and stick them together with a special glue into colorful jewelry. The jewelry is beautiful and durable but needs to be preserved carefully because the humid air will deform them.
Note: I've always been doubtful about the manufacturing method of this jewelry. Clam shells are fragile. I doubt if the glue can stick them together, not to mention if the glue would ruin the appearance of the final product. From my experience, the dry air would create cracks in the joint, which would be a lethal flaw to costume jewelry.
Shale Carving:
First, pick a piece of shale of a suitable shape. The stone is hard to carve, so it requires special carving knives and techniques. Easy to become layered and fall off, the stone can be carved into novel shapes and even present different patterns in the sunlight from different angles. But the stone is fragile and needs to be carefully taken care of.
Note: I tried the carving technique once. It was hard to master, which made me admire those who mastered it. They must have put a lot of effort into it.
Flint Lighter Machine:
Use the flint and a special metal strip to make a very useful lighter that can be used in various harsh environments but needs to be kept dry.
Note: I think this is a very delicate invention, but its complex mechanical structure will definitely push up its price, making it a toy for nobles and rich merchants. Maybe we can adopt a simpler structure. It's said that here are some designs in London Library. Maybe I should check them out.
(There are some design drafts after the text, but they were all redacted.)
Crystal Glass Production:
Use a special chemical solution to make the crystal glass into various shapes from simple spheres to complicated flowers or animals. The glass is very beautiful but needs careful treatment as it's fragile.
Note: The solution is very dangerous and harmful to the human body. If we can't make a more suitable and safe solution, then glassware production can only be the specialty of some craftsmen, which is not good for the inheritance and development of the technique.
