Born in Devonshire, Gladio has been living a vagrant life due to war. He became a captain at twenty and started to adventure with his fleet. After returning home as a famous adventurer, Gladio started to research warship performance upgrades.
With the escalation of the English-Spanish conflict, Gladio's fleet was ambushed in the Spanish waters. Gladio was the only survivor who successfully returned home. Enraged by the humility, he joined the navy to fight against the Spanish. With his familiarity with the sea and warships, he won sweeping victories in multiple sea battles and was honored with a knighthood, the vice admiral title, and a privateer license by the queen herself.
The Spanish launched a general attack on Britain, and Gladio was ordered to join the battle leading the Revenge. The British failed to launch a full-out attack even though an advantage. Gladio went against the order, approached the Spanish navy from behind, and won the battle. However, Gladio was wanted after the battle and had to escape to the sea with his fleet.
On the way, he saw numerous ports destroyed in the flames of war, but he has already become the enemy of Britain and Spain.
