A lone samurai who wanders around the coast of Japan. He is a great drinker who has been moving from inn to inn and is in great debt for his liquor. Even those innkeepers who interacted with him the most are still not sure of the man's background. All they knew is that the samurai, though fond of drinking, would help out when some alcoholics are causing trouble.
